Health and Safety for Adults
Delivery Guide
- Deliver only one newspaper and one of each leaflet to all properties on your round
- Push the paper all the way through the letterbox, a visible paper is a signal to thieves that a house is empty
- Do not leave papers on steps, driveways or in gates and hedges
- Close any gates behind you
- Double check your round card for any properties not to be delivered to; also do not deliver to any houses with a notice asking for no free papers / leaflets - if these properties are not on your round card, let your Agent know
- Dumping of papers / leaflets will result in immediate dismissal; report any leftovers to your Agent
- Your Agent and our telephone team check all rounds and any reports of non-delivery will be investigated immediately
- All newspapers should be delivered on either Thursday or Friday depending on the distribution day of your paper
- Papers need to be delivered after 7am in the morning and before 8.30pm in the evening
- Trolleys must be left at the end of any driveways in order to ensure that cars are not scratched
Hazards
- Be aware of any dogs in houses or gardens where you deliver - don't risk being bitten, report any problem animals to your Agent

- When you lift a bundle, bend your knees and keep your back straight: let your legs not your back take the strain
- Trolleys are provided for delivering your round and these must be used to transport your newspapers and leaflets, however we do have shoulder bags available - contact your Agent for one of these
Other Stuff
- Inform your Agent of any holiday plans - it is your responsibility to find cover for your round whilst you are away
- Your Agent will call at your house weekly with your papers, leaflets and pay
- Leaflets may be delivered on a separate day to your newspapers and these should be inserted into the newspapers for delivery
- Check the route you're going to take to complete the round before going out
